
Solution Description
On-Board Computer (OBC) is a modern flight computer designed for integration with CubeSat type satellite modules for the student scientific group Silesian Aerospace Technologies at the Silesian University of Technology. The device functions as the main control unit, responsible for coordinating all subsystems, collecting data from scientific instruments, and overseeing the execution of the orbital mission.
The satellite in which the OBC will be used is intended for atmospheric X-ray radiation research. The mission aims to record radiation emissions in the range from 3 to 100 keV generated by collisions of high-energy cosmic rays with the Earth’s atmosphere. The data collected by the satellite will help to better understand phenomena in the upper atmosphere, including ionization processes and bremsstrahlung radiation characteristics.
The OBC is responsible for controlling measurement instruments, processing signals from sensors and cameras, communicating with the transceiver module, and managing scientific data storage. Thanks to its modular design and multi-interface architecture, it can work with various satellite subsystems, ensuring stability, safety, and reliability throughout the orbital mission.
